WeTT Mission Statement

To provide a nurturing environment where our athletes may experience dedication, passion, discipline, and friendship through the sport of swimming.

WeTT Philosophy

It is WeTT’s mission to promote swimming as a lifelong healthy sport that balances competition with camaraderie. As a competitive swimming team, WeTT will be the catalyst to promote teamwork, self-discipline, friendship, perseverance, and pride. All of which are life skills that will help shape successful futures. Competition with compassion and dedication will help our swimmers respect diversity and conquer adversity.

SHORT COURSE SEASON 2011

Leo Cancellare Meet
The Leo Cancellare Memorial swim meet wrapped up our final meet for 2011 calendar year. Many of our swimmers continue to post personal bests. High point trophies were given for the top 5 spots in each age group with WeTT swimmers having good representation.

Junior Nationals Meet
Sydney Hirschi represented WeTT at the Junior Nationals Championships Swim Meet in Austin, TX. Junior Nationals meets are only available for swimers who have achieved the required qualifying times. Sydney was able to make personal bests in the 400IM, 100 Fly, and 200 Fly. She also made an additional Junior National qualifying time in the 100 Fly event.




COR Swim Meet
WeTT finished another outstanding meet at the COR Invitational in Dallas. It was a great opportunity to pick up some personal bests and additional qualification times. Victoria picked up her TAGS time in the 100 Fly, Nina made an additional TAGS times in the 50 Free and Sectionals times in the 100 Free, 200 Free, 100 Fly, and 200 IM. This was a prelims/finals meet with our swimmers showing good representation in the finals with 13-14 age swimmers having an A and B final opportunity.

In addition to the outstanding race placements, Nina broke border records in the 100, 200 and 500 Free's. What a great accomplishment!



Desert Shark Swim Meet
Many yellow ducks found a home with our swimmers at the annual Turkey Splash Meet. WeTT High Point winners for the meet were:

Victoria Garcia - 3rd Place 11-12 Girls
Nina Gonzalez - 2nd Place 13-14 Girls
Ivy Caflin - 3rd Place 13-14 Girls
Sydney Hirschi - 1st Place 15-16 Girls

The WeTT girls set a new Border record with a time of 3:39.11 in the 400 Free Relay. This was 4.66 seconds faster than the previous record set just last year. Way to go Shanny, Ivy, Nina, and Sydney!



Del Norte #2
Congratulations to all our swimmers for yet another exceptional meet. Many of the swimmers competed in events for the first time while others had personl best times. Top three race finishes for the meet include:

All Stars Select Camp
Congratulations to Ivy Caflin, Nina Gonzalez, and Nicholas Jozwiak for being selected for the 2011 All Stars Team. All Stars will be run differently this year in that it went from a swim meet to a select camp. Each of the 5 Texas LSC's could send only the top 2 IMX point earning boys and girls from age groups 11 to 14. Ivy, Nina, and Nicholas will represent the Border LSC along with 9 other swimmers. Shanny Lin was also one of the top two IMX 14 year old girls but had been previously chosen for the Zones Select Camp.




SWAT Meet
WeTT had another great showing at the SWAT swim meet. Our swimmers continue to improve with most all swimmers posting some personal best times. We had 4 high point winners and set 2 new Border records.

LCAT Pecan Classic Meet
As one of the only outdoor meets of the Short Course season, the LCAT meet is always lots of fun. The morning started out a bit chilly but things soon heated up as the WeTT swimmers took the blocks. Our swimmers took home many personal bests as well as a few high point trophies. Wett took third place overall as a team.
